Your pediatrician will advice admission of your child if he or she feels that your child requires intravenous fluids and IV medication so that your child recovers from his illness soon. The Inpatient services offer state-of-the-art care for children and adolescents who require admission for all aspects of Pediatric and surgical treatments. The child or adolescent is treated in a developmentally appropriate fashion with emphasis on synthesizing medical and psychosocial needs. Since these children are not in the intensive care unit thus they are not critically ill children. The children’s parents are allowed to stay with them depending upon the ward in which the child is admitted in.
At The Children’s Hospital, Mumbai each floor has round the clock nurses who are trained to deal with your precious babies. There is a strong PICU for back-up for any unexpected course of events in the in-patient admissions. Ours is one of the few hospitals in the city where a qualified pediatrician is available in the premises round the clock to attend to sick children and make crucial decisions in saving the child. This responsibility is shouldered by trainee doctors in most other places.
